Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy member Eamonn Kelly is set to embark on a new challenge Rally in the Netherlands.
Driving a BMW E30 M3, which he has secured thanks to the generosity of fellow rally driver Michael Cullen, Kelly is eager to experience the iconic car firsthand.
"These cars are a joy to watch from the sideline, so I can only imagine how it will be to take control," he said. "I can't wait!"
The Eurol Hellendoorn Rally, is scheduled for Friday and Saturday and is a counting round of the Open Dutch Rally Championship, the Dutch Rally Championship and the Dutch Historical Rally Championship. Kelly and co-driver Conor Mohan are contesting the historic element of the rally.
Meanwhile, three crews representing the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy will tackle the challenging McKelvey Asbestos Bushwhacker Rally this Saturday, September.
The academy's participants include Ryan Caldwell and Sean Ferris in a Skoda Fabia R5, starting at number five.
Craig Rahill and Killian McCardle in a Ford Fiesta Rally4, aim for Class 2 honours in the Forest Rally Championship.
Cian Caldwell and Shane Byrne also compete in a Ford Fiesta Rally4, with the experienced Byrne making his debut alongside Caldwell.
Last weekend's Wexford Rally saw Jack Brennan and Eoghan Doherty secure a third-place finish in Class 2, driving a Peugeot 208 Rally4.
